Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is a mercurial singer and composer who weds the soul of gospel and jazz with R&B to create a unique mix. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway to the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine's birth title is Denise White. While she resides in Atlanta her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her music career by singing as well as playing the piano at the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her musical path in the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The Fighting Temptations The single with her voice on it, Stalk You the House, came out only in Japan. It's had numerous remixes and is the mainstay in her live performance. She has also contributed her voice on The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. She was named the main keyboardist of Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the director of chorus for Dreamgirls a theatre production of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine came to national attention for her four-day performances during the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was later invited to sing during Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
